Mount supports on the frame itself as close to the back wall as possible. Then mount your supports on the lid as close to the position that you prefer the lid to open to however the closer to the center the better. When determining your length you should try to get it as close to the center of the lid as possible. Below the center you need to add pressure, after the center you begin to lower pressure. Always work with eye protection and mount using carriage bolts.
